About Me

I’m a lecturer in psychology at the University of Gloucestershire in the UK, adopting a broadly critical perspective with a particular interest in everyday and “pop” psychology. I lecture on modules in critical and historical issues in psychology, and on research methods. My publications include:

  • Jones, D. & Elcock, J. (2001) History and Theories of Psychology: A critical perspective. London: Hodder Arnold.
  • Davey, G. (2008). Complete Psychology (2nd Ed.). London: Hodder Education.
  • Tyson, P., Jones, D., & Elcock, J. (In press). Psychology in Social Context: Issues and debates. Oxford: Wiley-Blackwell.

About This Blog

This blog is a place for me to publish general thoughts about psychology, mainly targetted to students studying my modules; and to repost interesting articles or blog entries on psychology. There is also a page of links to sites that I find interesting.
